Mōwai Stories

Mōwai is a space where art is not about perfection, but presence. It honours the natural cycles of life -the ebb and flow of silence and expression, rest and renewal. In this space, craft becomes expression, expression becomes release, and release becomes transformation. With patience, empathy, and trust, Mōwai guides each individual gently toward balance, connection, and inner liberation.

“Where art becomes presence, and presence becomes healing”

The goal of Mōwai Stories is to build inclusive, creative spaces where art nurtures balance, connection, and emotional freedom through collaborative workshops, installations, and reflective practices. Mōwai Stories aims to empower individuals and communities to use art as a pathway to healing, resilience, and transformation.

Mani

Artist. Designer. Researcher. Art Therapy Practitioner.

The artist behind Mōwai Stories is a maker, researcher, and art therapy practitioner whose work grew from her own quiet rituals of mandala drawing and origami. What began as a way to breathe through anxiety slowly became a deeper practice of healing through art. Her work is rooted in presence, patience, and care, creating gentle spaces where creativity becomes expression, resilience, emotional release, and a way back to oneself.

Therapeutic orientation

Our approach is integrative and person-centred, drawn from guided visualisation, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Gestalt principles, and choosing what each individual or group needs most. We believe in slowing down, in the value of a quiet room and simple materials, and in trusting that the creative process knows things the conscious mind hasn't caught up to yet.
